Dopo l’anteprima al Lucca Comics & Games 2012 e a pochi giorni dall’uscita ufficiale, ecco una breve introduzione alla serie per chi non ne avesse mai sentito parlare.
cos’è
“Il Trono d’Argilla” è l’edizione italiana de “Le Trône d’Argile”, serie di ambientazione storica edita in Francia e area francofona da Delcourt.
di cosa parla
In breve, viene tratteggiato un periodo storico complesso ed emozionante nel quale si alternano e si intrecciano guerre, politica, passioni, onore cavalleresco.
La serie racconta infatti la parte finale della Guerra dei Cent’Anni ( dal 1418 in poi), che vide contrapposti sul territorio francese i conquistatori inglesi e le due fazioni, Borgognoni e Armagnacchi, che si contendevano il dominio del regno di Francia.
Personaggio chiave della vicenda risulterà Giovanna d’Arco, figura ancora controversa e molto popolare in Francia, ma la caratteristica della serie è quella di seguire varie vicende umane e gli intrighi politici del periodo da un’ottica un po’ decentrata, spesso attraverso l’azione di Tanneguy du Chastel, un cavaliere fedele al Delfino Charles, erede Armagnac del vacillante trono francese.

La sceneggiatura vede all’opera Nicolas Jarry e France Richemond. Il primo è uno scrittore con vari romanzi ed albi all’attivo, la seconda una storica del Louvre con la passione per il fumetto. Disegnatore della serie, la mia d’esordio, è il sottoscritto, mentre il colore digitale è a cura di Lorenzo Pieri, già al lavoro in quel momento su un’altra serie di Jarry e Ricemond e colorista da allora tra i più richiesti nel mercato francese.
Con il quinto volume francese, ancora inedito in Italia, Richemond diventa sceneggiatrice unica.
l’edizione francese
La lavorazione de “Le Trône d’Argile” è iniziata ufficialmente nel gennaio 2004 e, fin da quella data, il piano dell’opera prevedeva l’uscita di sette volumi nel classico formato album francese, con copertina rigida, grande formato e interamente a colori. Il primo volume dell’edizione originale è uscito nel 2006 e ad oggi sono disponibili cinque volumi, l’ultimo dei quali è uscito a maggio 2012; la serie ha registrato un successo crescente ed è ormai disponibile anche nelle edizioni tedesca e fiamminga.
l’edizione italiana
L’edizione Lineachiara in uscita il 30 novembre prossimo raccoglie i primi due albi dell’edizione originale in un volume unico brossurato di 90 pagine, formato 19×25 cm., a colori.
Il secondo volume, ancora da annunciare, raccoglierà gli albi 3 e 4 già pubblicati da Delcourt in Francia.
